I believe in the art of photography. I believe in the art of writing.

Words and photography can have a symbiotic relationship, opening our eyes and minds to the wonderful things that make up our world. These two art forms allow us to explore life in new and wonderful ways.

Take, for example, the Muscovy Duck. I never knew the Muscovy existed. I never saw or heard of one until my wife told me about these magnificent animals. She described them to me in great detail…I asked her where this strange duck lived. She told me they were thriving in a small lake near a doctor’s office. The staff in that office “adopted” the Muscovy as their official mascot. Like my wife, they were fascinated with their unique appearance. It was nothing like they had never seen before.

I then had to see them for myself, using my camera to preserve the adventure of exploring this discovery of ducks thriving in a suburban setting. When I saw them, I was amazed. They were uniquely different. I used my camera to preserve the adventure.

I am now fascinated with the Muscovy. Their unique appearance makes them a joy to watch.

These Muscovy are taking me on an adventure I thought I would never experience.

That adventure is a story for another day.
